Why Puerto Aventuras for a luxury villa stay

Puerto Aventuras works for a luxury stay because it combines a gated, secure setting with direct beach access and a short drive from the airport.

The community is a private marina town with controlled access and on-site security. Inside the gates you have a working marina, dive operators, a golf course, and a string of beach clubs, most of them within walking distance of the villas. You are not driving out to attractions. You are already inside the part most visitors come to see.

Distance is the other reason. From Cancun International Airport, the drive to Puerto Aventuras runs about one hour; from Tulum's, about 1 hour 15. Tulum is further south. Playa del Carmen is closer, but it trades quiet for crowds and nightlife. Puerto Aventuras keeps the calm.

What keeps people coming back is the texture of the community itself. Puerto Aventuras is small enough to walk, with the marina at its center, restaurants and a few shops around it, and the beach a short stroll from most of the villas. It feels less like a resort strip and more like a private town that happens to sit on the Caribbean.

The four haciendas stand side by side on the beach and sleep up to 126 guests in 51 suites, each one rented to a single group at a time. Casa Cangrejo and Villa Nautica are smaller villas inside the gates, and our other villas and beach condos fill out the rest of the town.

Choosing between them usually comes down to two questions: how many people, and how close to the water. Hacienda Del Mar has the most suites, 15, and Hacienda Mágica sleeps the most, up to 36. All four haciendas put you on the sand.

Hacienda Jaguar

Hacienda Mágica

On the beach between its neighbours, with 4 to 14 suites, always private. Full resident staff. It sleeps the most of the four, up to 36, and suits the biggest gatherings: extended families, milestone celebrations and corporate retreats that need everyone under one roof. Hacienda Corazón

Hacienda Del Mar

Who our Puerto Aventuras villas are for

These estates were built for groups, not for couples after a single hotel room. Three kinds of trips fit them best.

Multigenerational families are the most common. Grandparents, parents, and kids under one roof, with enough suites for everyone to have privacy and enough shared space (pool, terrace, dining) for the time together that is the point of the trip. The resident chef handles the logistics most family vacations stumble over: feeding a dozen people three times a day.

Friend groups come for the same reasons in a different shape. A block of couples, a milestone birthday, a reunion. Whole-estate privacy means the group sets its own rhythm, with late dinners, a bartender on hand, and no shared resort spaces to compete for.

Corporate retreats round out the list. The haciendas have the capacity for a full team, the privacy for working sessions, and a concierge who can turn the estate into a venue for meetings by day and dinners by night. Del Mar (15 suites) and Mágica (14) hold the biggest teams under one roof.

What's included in a stay at our haciendas

Every hacienda comes with a resident staff, so the house runs like a private boutique hotel for your group alone.

The chef plans menus with you and cooks on site, from breakfast to a private dinner on the terrace. The butler and concierge handle the day to day: reservations, excursions, special requests, the small logistics that usually eat into a vacation. The bartender runs the bar. Housekeeping keeps the estate in order throughout the stay.

At the four haciendas (Jaguar, Mágica, Corazón and Del Mar) you step from the property onto the sand. The concierge can arrange airport transfers, in-villa spa treatments, private tasting menus, boat charters, and dive trips through the on-site operators.

On food and drink: the chef cooks on site, and food and drinks are billed separately; we explain the options when you inquire. Menus are planned with the group, so dietary needs, kids' preferences, and a celebratory dinner can all be handled without leaving the estate. Some groups eat every meal in. Others use the chef for breakfast and dinner and explore the area's restaurants at lunch.

Plan your stay in Puerto Aventuras

The community itself is the amenity. Most of what you will want is inside the gates or a short drive away.

Within Puerto Aventuras you have the marina, a golf course, dive shops, and beach clubs. Cenotes and the reef are close by, and the ruins at Tulum make a reasonable day trip.

For a three-night stay, most groups settle into the estate, spend time on the beach, and book one excursion. Five nights leaves room for a reef dive or a cenote tour plus a day in Playa del Carmen. Seven nights is enough to add Tulum and a slower pace. The concierge builds the plan around your group.

A few things are worth building a day around. The reef off the coast is part of the Mesoamerican system, with dive operators on site. Cenotes, the freshwater sinkholes the Yucatan is known for, are a short drive inland. And for slower mornings, the golf course and the beach clubs are a few minutes from the door.
